A couple weeks ago I got a permission slip for DaisyGirl's class field trip. They would be going to Gateway mall to watch "How To Train a Dragon". They had been reading the book as a class and now were going to go watch the movie. She was way excited and asked if I could take the day off to go. I felt really bad telling her No. I knew it was too late to try and have someone cover on Friday. I'm the only one there most of the day. She understood mommy's dilema and said, 'its ok, next time'.My poor baby. Anyhoo, today was the big field trip day. She woke up extra early and was more excited than ever to be going to school. She's like, "Mom, did you know it only take 15 minutes for us to get to Gateway from our school". It was the most amazing thing to her. LOL.She said, the bus will pick us up at 9. Arrive at gateway at 915. Movie starts at 930. The bus would be back to pick us up at 11. We'd be back at school for lunch and then have math etc. Ok, thank youfor the whole schedule baby..hahaha. Today she got home and she goes,"the bus was late mom", so we had to cancel math for today.. HUH? Cancel math..I said you should have cancelled lunch..hahah. She didn't think that was funny. Anyhoo, overall she enjoyed her fieldtrip. She loved the movie. She didn't think it followed the book. The bookwas about training the dragon. The movie was about killing dragons. Her exact words..heheh. A few of her friends cried. She swears she didn't cry. I believe her..she's not emotional like mommy. She enjoyed her fieldtrip. I'm glad she had a good time. Next one will be the zoo before school ends.. Hopefully it isn't on a Friday so that I can go with her class.. Great trip for babygirl..I should have sent the camera with her...Oh well!!!
Field trips are the best. I try and make it to my kids' but like you - as a working mom that's not always possible. Funny I should read your post today because that's where I'm taking the kids today. Hope I don't fall asleep. LOL!
